SS Model Lead Cable Coupling
Sleeves
SS model lead cable sleeves are designed for coupling cables
with a conductor section between 10 and 240 square mm, with an impregnated-paper
insulation and with an insulation impregnated with non-drop mixture, in aluminium
or lead sheath, with or without serving. They are for use with voltages ranging
from 6 to 10 kV at 50 Hz. They are laid underground, in tunnels, bores and other
cable structures, and are designed for use in any climatic conditions where the
relative humidity does not exceed 98% at a temperature 35°C. The sleeves can
be used in water provided they are protected with special casing.
The basic
element of the coupling sleeve is a lead tube that is rounded on both sides of
its contact with the metal cable sheath and that is soldered to it. The conductor
coupling point is insulated with paper reels and rolls. The inside of the lead
tube is filled with an asphalt mortar or an oil-colophony mixture, which is poured
through the holes cut beforehand. The sleeve is then placed into either protective
housing KZP (plastic housing) or KZCh (iron housing).
The service life is
at least 25 years.

a sleeve case, a KzCh-75 housing with
metal[KAK1], cable wheels, POS-30 solder, M/B-70 filling, solder, soldering grease,
an earthing conductor, paraffin, cleaning material, an asbestos cord and galvanized
